The inspiration for this particular work is the flowers that are an object of beauty with their different scents and forms. The main character is a young woman from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec surrounded by flowers.
The Isthmus of Tehuantepec (tewanteˈpek, or "jaguar mountain") is the narrow stretch of land between the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean. Before the opening of the Panama Canal, it was a major overland transport route known simply as the Tehuantepec Route.
