Sonia Amelia is a passionate artist who is always in search of artistic and creative expression. Having founded and run a successful creative agency for over 10 years, Sonia has now dedicated her full time to her true passion: art.

"My paintings are not just a mere replication of reality, but rather an emotional exploration," says Sonia. "I seek to capture the energy and emotions that I have experienced in life and transform them into vibrant and compelling works of art.”
Sonia loves to feel free throughout the canvas, using a loose brush style that exposes some of the background layers, resulting in dynamic and energetic pieces of art. When Sonia paints, she is not just thinking about art, but rather about life itself. The canvas becomes a medium for expressing her innermost emotions and capturing the essence of her experiences.

Constantly experimenting with materials, colours, and techniques, Sonia is in a perpetual state of research on how painting enhances her own life. She uses digital software to alter, exaggerate and contrast images, to produce and transform into what she calls “enormous avalanches of paint.” She strives to evoke emotional responses in viewers through her artworks, addressing thought-provoking topics that resonate with people on a deep level.

She is particularly drawn to working on large-scale formats, as she finds that it provides her with the freedom of emotion and movement that she seeks in her art. By using giant, bigger-than-life scales in a provocative way, Sonia aims to convey the beauty she finds in life through her paintings, creating a bold and captivating visual experience for the audience.

Through her artistic endeavours, Sonia Amelia continues to push the boundaries of artistic expression, always striving to create unique and compelling works of art that inspire and captivate the audience.
